Ways to give to the Mental Health Center of Denver
We are the community mental health center serving the City and County of Denver although MHCD is not a city or state agency. We are a private charitable organization and depend on the generosity of the community.
State funding, Medicaid and Medicare, state and federal grants do not begin to cover the costs of providing mental health services to the 6,500 people we help reach their dreams of recovery.
Ways to help
At the Mental Health Center of Denver, we believe that people can and do recover from mental illness. Your donation goes toward solutions that change lives and impact our entire community.
MHCD is a tax-exempt non-profit organization. Your gifts are tax-deductible as allowed by law.

In-Kind Gift
Your tax-deductible gifts of furniture, appliances, clothing and toys are distributed to mental health consumers free of charge. For free pick-up call the MHCD donation line at 303-892-5594 or e-mail Keath Barr at keathern.barr@mhcd.org

Volunteer at MHCD 
C.H.A.M.P.S. is our volunteer program. It stands for Caring Hands and Minds Providing Support. C.H.A.M.P.S. volunteer their time to promote and support recovery. Meet us – MHCD Enriching Lives & Minds Open Houses
Each month we hold open houses where you can learn about what we do and how we help people recover from mental illness. You'll meet our CEO, Dr. Carl Clark and hear about our vision for the future and how we are changing people's lives.
We'd like to meet you and hear from you. These are casual gatherings at the Mental Health Center of Denver. We serve refreshments and a light snack and you'll be in and out in just an hour. Click here for the schedule.
